There is a reason for everything...

...Even the absence of posts, that reason would be that I would rather just keep a journal than tell everyone about the personal ins and outs of my life. This is the end. Good bye.

Service Project Essay

This is the unedited version of my Ronald McDonald house service project essay, enjoy.

Imagine that your brother falls off a cliff and broke his legs and a arm, he needs major medical attention, attention you can't get from the hospital down the street, the closest hospital that can is a half-an-hour drive away, the treatment could take weeks, you can't just leave him their all alone, who will help? The Ronald McDonald House charities, what do they do? They shelter the family's of children in the hospital, they are a place for family's to stay while their child is being treated for long periods of time, and they take care of the parents of children with critical injuries or illnesses. What do they get for it? Nothing, they survive on the small amount of money they charge their guests, they survive on donations from large companies, such as, The Coca-Cola Company, Dillard's, And, of course, McDonald's Corporation, but mostly they survive on donations from people like us. This is why I chose them.

To help The Ronald McDonald House Charities I did two things. First, my friends and I gathered lots of fleece material for blankets, then we cut a fringe around the edges of our blankets, then we tied the fringe into knots, we will donate them soon. We also made cards for parents to give to their depressed children with critical injuries or illnesses. Some of the cards we just assembled, but we released our artistic talent on others.

Making things for the Ronald McDonald House Charities made me happy, I felt like I made a difference, I felt like I really mattered in this absurdly large world in which we live in, I felt like I could fly away and be happy forever.

I am very happy with what I have done for The Ronald McDonald House Charities they make so many families happy every year, I'm proud that I have helped them serve families better. This service project has been extremely enlightening experience. I have realized what it feels like to do service, I have realized how fortunate I am that I don't have to depend on total strangers to feed me and task care of me, and I can understand why people devote their lives to service. If I could I would love to do it again, and again, and again!
